FAQS
Questions? Answers!
Find Some quick answers to the most common questions.
Do I need my G1 to start?
You can begin the online theory lessons before getting your learner's permit, but you must have your full G1 to get behind the wheel for in-car lessons.
Do you offer free pick-up and drop-off?
Yes! We provide free pickup and drop-off within our entire service area. Just let us know your location when booking. You can also view our service area map to ensure you're covered.
What if I’m outside the service area map?
A travel fee may apply for locations outside the highlighted area in the Service Map. Please contact us for inquiries.
Can I use my own car?
No, novice drivers must use the instructor's vehicle. These cars are equipped with a mandatory dual-brake system for safety.
What if I need to cancel a scheduled lesson?
We require just 12 hours notice for all in-car lesson cancellations. If you cancel with less than 12 hours notice, a $20 fee applies per lesson. This policy helps us manage our instructors’ schedules, as that time slot often cannot be filled with another student on short notice.
Can I use the instructor's car for the test?
Yes, we offer a package that includes a warm-up lesson and car rental for the day of your road test.
Can I just practice parking?
Yes, you can. You can purchase individual driving lessons and practice or learn any driving related skills of your choice. Check out the Services page.
How long is the course?
Standard MTO-certified programs consist of 20 hours of online instruction, 10 hours of in-car practice, and 10 hours of flexible learning (homework provided by the online course). You can take the G2 road test after 8 months of obtaining your G1 if you complete the BDE course. Then you can take the full G road test 12 months later.
Do I save on insurance after the course?
Your insurance provider may provide a discount after you have completed a BDE Program. Contact your insurance provider for more details. Note that this is not part of Ontario’s BDE Program, and completing any course does not guarantee a discount.
